European Parliament Eurobarometer – what Europeans know and think of the European Parliament

With six month go until the 2014 European elections, this European Parliament-commissioned Eurobarometer survey looks at the knowledge and perceptions the European have of the European Parliament.

The survey was conducted using face-to-face methods in the 28 EU Member States, with 27 624 respondents.

It may be interesting to read the results in the light of this recent article  in the Journal of European Integration: it suggests that perceptions of the European Parliament itself – and not only a general (lack of) interest in EU issues – indeed have a significant effect on the decision to vote.
