The Elcano Royal Institute (Real Instituto Elcano) opens its first international office in Brussels

On 1 May 2016 the Elcano Royal Institute opened an office in Brussels, its first office outside Spain.

The purpose of this, one of the institute’s most ambitious projects in recent years, is to start expanding its international activities, starting with Brussels.

The director of the institute’s new office in Brussels is Luis Simón, a leading expert in international relations and European affairs. He is closely acquainted with the realities of the European context and the institutions based in the Belgian capital.

The Think Tank Review (TTR), compiled by the Library at the General Secretariat of the Council, brings together publications on EU affairs from think tanks around the world. It is published monthly and is popular with people working in Brussels.

The papers selected each month are indexed permanently in a special repository within the GSC library catalogue, where they can be searched and retrieved. The April 2016 issue of the Think Tank Review references papers published in March 2016.

The Elcano Royal Institute is one of the most active think tanks in Spain. The Library regularly monitors its research for the TTR. Your can see the list of the papers published by the Elcano Royal Institute that have been selected for the TTR between 2014 and 2016 here.
