On 1st July 2016, the Slovak Republic took over the Presidency of the Council of the EU from the Netherlands, as part of the Netherlands-Slovak-Maltese ‘Trio Presidency’ (January 2016 – June 2017).
On this occasion, the Language Library has prepared a note listing a selection of recent language tools in the Slovak language available in the Language Library.
- Access the selection here.
Our readers will find dictionaries, e-dictionaries, monographs on the translation of legal texts, as well as specialised periodicals (Journal of Linguistics/Jazykovedný časopis, Journal for Slovak language research and ‘Kultúra slova’).
Slovak is an Indo-European language that belongs to the West Slavic group of languages (together with the Czech and Polish).
The Language Library is open to all staff of the Council of the European Union and the European Council, trainees, Permanent Representations of Member States, staff of other EU institutions and bodies, as well as to researchers and students (upon appointment by email at firstname.lastname@example.org). Access to some library resources may be restricted to on-site consultation.
